The start of a new semester—and decade—means that there are lots of important and exciting dates coming up for you and your student! The Indiana Wesleyan University academic calendar lists all the dates that you will want to know for the 2019-2020 academic year. You can find the complete 2019-2020 academic calendar here!
Below we’re giving a quick look at some of the most important dates this Spring that you’ll want to mark your calendar for!
February 11 (Tuesday): Common Day of Learning
Students do not have classes, but instead are encouraged to partake in the Common Day of Learning event, sponsored by the Office of intercultural Learning and Engagement.
February 21 (Friday): Midterms
Classes schedule their Midterms throughout the week, so your student may have a midterm before Friday. Your student might appreciate an encouraging text or card in the mail this week.
March 2 – 7 (Friday-Sunday): Spring Break
Students celebrate the beginning of (hopefully) warm weather with Spring Break! Students can choose to go home, visit friends’ homes, or go on an Adventure Learning trip! (Res Halls will be closed over the break, so students cannot stay in their halls).
March 20 – 22 (Friday-Sunday): Family Weekend
Come visit with your student and experience what daily life on campus is like. You’ll have the opportunity to attend a special Family Banquet, participate in a Family Game Night and participate in Family Activities at the Recreation and Wellness Center. You won’t want to miss out on this special weekend!
April 10 – 13 (Friday-Monday): Easter Break
Classes do not meet on Good Friday so many students leave right after their last Thursday class and spend Good Friday and Easter with loved ones. Day classes on Monday do not meet so that students can travel back to campus; however, MONDAY EVENING CLASSES MEET. (So make sure your child leaves early enough to return in time for evening classes on Monday if he/ she has any.)
April 20 – 23 (Monday-Thursday): Finals
You can send your child a Wildcat Care Package to be delivered to them during finals. Volunteers from the Alumni Association fill these survival kits with snacks like a granola bar, candy, cookies, nuts, crackers, popcorn, applesauce, and fruit snacks. Learn more about the packages here!
April 24 (Friday): Baccalaureate
Parents and family of graduates are welcome to come celebrate and honor the class of 2020 during our baccalaureate service.
April 25 (Saturday): Graduation
Congratulations, Class of 2020!
