Your student has been moved in for an entire month now, and we are sure you want to stay involved in his or her life on campus. Lucky for you, we have some family-oriented events planned for the month of October, including Homecoming Weekend and Grandparents Day. Keep reading to learn more!
You won’t want to miss Homecoming! The weekend-long celebration takes place Oct. 4-Oct. 6 and includes a long lineup of activities. Kick off your weekend by attending IWU’s fall opera productions,The Old Maid and the Thiefand The Telephone, with your student. Shows will take place in the Phillipe Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, Oct. 4 to Saturday, Oct. 6.
On Saturday, the University has several family-oriented activities planned. These activities will include our Science Exploration and Kid Zones, which will give your younger kids opportunities to participate in science experiments and play with inflatables. For adults, our student organizations will be hosting a street fair with plenty of booths and activities for all our guests. Homecoming events will also feature a classic car cruise-in, our inaugural Homecoming football game and a concert with Lauren Daigle. Grandparents Day is the perfect way for your student to spend time with his or her grandparents, and the event is open to all members of your family. This year, Grandparents Day is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12. Guests will have the opportunity to attend class and a chapel service with their student.
