As summer break is coming to an end, our New Student Orientation (NSO) week, also known as Trek, is quickly approaching, and will be here before we know it! If you’re the parent of an incoming, first-year or transfer student, you’re probably beginning to feel butterflies in anticipation of the coming school year at a brand-new place for your child. We wanted to help ease some of your nerves by providing a schedule for your student’s first week at IWU, including activities for you to attend!
Below you will find your student’s full Trek schedule! As noted in the schedule, parents are welcome to stay until lunch on Sunday, Aug. 25th. Over the weekend, we have two services specifically for parents, the Parent Session (8/24) and the Life Calling and Parenting (8/25). For more detailed information regarding Trek 2019, including this schedule, download the “Yapp” app on your phone, and enter the code: TREK2019.

CLASSES BEGIN!
Trek week will help your student become oriented to life at IWU and offers many opportunities for them to participate in fun events and meet new people! They will get to attend an 80’s dance, watch a comedy show, volunteer in a service project in Marion, spend lots of time with their First Year Experience (FYE) Class, listen to valuable seminars and more. By the end of the week, you can expect them to feel exhausted but full of joy and excitement, as they’re ready to take on their first year as a Wildcat!
