Graduation | Spring 2019

The semester has flown by and your student’s graduation is just around the corner! There is so much to do, and your entire family is busily preparing for this day. The list of things to remember is a mile long, but we have you covered with this list of important things to know about graduation.

  1. Date & Time

Graduation for all IWU-Marion associate and bachelor’s degrees will take place on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m.

  1. Graduation Tickets

Tickets cannot be purchased, but your student will receive five free tickets for any five guests of their choosing.

  1. Seating

Students’ families and friends will be seated in the Chapel Auditorium. For those who don’t have tickets, additional seating will be available in the Phillippe Performing Arts Center Auditorium where the ceremony will be livestreamed.

  1. DVDs

WIWU-TV will record the ceremony, including a close-up shot of your student receiving his or her diploma from President David Wright. DVDs will be available for purchase ahead of time at selecting the Graduation DVD link. DVDs may also be ordered the day of graduation.

  1. Finding Your Graduate

When proceeding to the Chapel Auditorium, graduates will line up with their friends, instead of in alphabetical order. If you intend to look for your student in line, plan to communicate with your student, so you will know with whom your student will stand in line.

  1. Diplomas

Your student will receive his or her diploma in the mail. If your student’s home address is changing, then it is important for your student to notify IWU of this at selecting the Update Your Info link. If your student needs their diploma sent to an address other than their permanent address, then they need to notify the RAS office at

  1. Baccalaureate

Baccalaureate will take place in the Chapel Auditorium on Friday, April 26 at 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity to take graduation pictures of your student wearing his or her cap and gown—without the heavy crowds! The event will include a speaker and worship service to help celebrate the occasion.

  1. Moving Out

After graduation, your student will have until 5 p.m. to move out of their residence hall. Planning ahead of time will eliminate the stress of moving out.

Please visit more information. Enjoy this special celebration with your student!
